It was a rough morning… tired from retucking a coughing kid all night, clothes were not going on children, pooping was happening as we’re walking out the door and breakfast food wasted… we all get into the car as it’s pouring down rain and I take a deep breath and remind myself that these kids are a blessing. I asked for a few “cheeses” so I can capture this exhausted morning moment with some goofiness.
An hour later in Bible study, we discuss our “poky parts” that are still beautiful. I immediately think of my parenting that morning. I love those two kids more than anything, but they are also my poky parts. They drive me nuts!!!!! But gosh their sweet voices talking on the way to school, sharing their books and blankets and singing about Jesus are my beautiful parts too.
Mamas, you may have more poky parts than beautiful parts in your mom journey right now, but you’ve got this! In the poky moments, reflect and remind yourself of the beautiful blessings you have from God – even if they drive you nuts (and constantly cough in your face, won’t get dressed, waste your money on uneaten food, scream about not wanting to get buckled, cry about not having enough milk in their cereal – just to name a few)!!!
